The Nordic Kitchen
The love of nature, a wholesome and sustainable lifestyle and seasonality define the Nordic kitchen. However, as a consequence of the great variations in natural resources, climate and growing conditions, daily fare can differ considerably inside the region, thus making the Nordic food region exceptionally rich and diverse.
Within the vast expanse which we define as the Nordic food region, you can find many common culinary traits and traditions. Such as the use of wildlife, mushrooms and berries from the deep forests in the north and fresh fish from lakes, fjords and the seas that surround us. Our love of curing, pickling and smoking to preserve food for the long, cold winters is also reflected in our traditional recipes.
