Training for Chefs
All over the Nordic region you´ll find universities, training colleges and private operators that offer courses in indigenous and regional cooking.
The Restaurant Academies in Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki, in conjunction with the foreign ministries, regularly arrange cooking sessions for chefs based at embassies abroad. These are normally focused on the national food traditions and using Nordic produce.
Furthermore, national and regional organisations that promote regional food and artisan food production have regular courses in curing and preserving, jam making, bread baking, cheese making, beer brewing and a number of other skills.
